City of Des Moines Scrub Days
Nine cleanup days are scheduled in Des Moines for residents to get rid of
yard waste or household trash at no cost by dropping it off at city
facilities.
YARD WASTE: Take to the MetroCompostCenter, 1601 Harriet St., from 7 a.m.
to 1 p.m. on scrub dates.
OF NOTE: Toxic and household hazardous waste will not be accepted. For
disposal, call 967-5512.
HOUSEHOLD DEBRIS: Deposit it at the Metro Transfer Station, 4198 Delaware
Ave., from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on scrub days only. New this year: Traffic
should enter from the north, off Broadway Avenue.
